Routines had always been important to Mr. Arvind Singh
Harit. He lived for his days, when everything was planned out to the last
minute. But lately, he's noticed that he's been itching for something
different—a vacation from the hectic
pace of his work life. That's why he agreed without much hesitation when his
friends suggested a trip to Wayanad, a charming area tucked away in Kerala's
Western Ghats.
On the day of the trip, Arvind and his friends, Ravi, Neelam, and Anil, gathered at the agreed-upon meeting place, and there was an air of excitement in the air. Arvind's typically calm manner stood in stark contrast to their obvious excitement. His normally well-groomed hair was a little dishevelled from enthusiasm, and he was sporting a little rucksack stuffed with necessities. Wayanad is always one of the most beautiful place to visit. As per our internal research, the travel visitors numbers are increasing day by day which is a good thing.
The bunch piled into Ravi's SUV and set out early in
the morning. Although the travel was
lengthy, the sweeping views outside the window were visually stunning. The
route was dotted with views of expansive tea plantations, verdant pastures, and
the sporadic glimpse of a far-off
waterfall. From light-hearted banter to serious philosophical discussions, the
general mood within the car was one of excitement for the journey ahead. There
are so many adventure things to do in wayanad.
The scenery changed considerably as they approached Wayanad. The meandering roads and thick woodlands gave away
the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The Edakkal Caves, well-known for its historic petroglyphs, was their
first destination. The moderate walk up to the caves was well worth it because
of the expansive views of the lush surroundings below. Normally not one for
physical activity, Arvind was energised by the challenge. The caves themselves
had intriguing secrets from a bygone past, whispered by their old sculptures.
Following their exploration of the caves, they made
their way to their lodging, a quaint homestay surrounded by coffee fields. It
was instantly clear that the hosts were very kind and welcoming. The homestay's
wooden decor and expansive balcony that overlooked the plantation gave it an
air of cosiness. Arvind was
pleasantly pleased by the place's warmth and cosiness, as he typically
preferred modern conveniences.
There was a campfire that night on Wayanad's first
evening. Ravi, who was usually the showman, played his guitar while Neelam sung
old Bollywood songs in a melodic voice. Anil had already struck up a discussion
about the traditional foods they would be eating with the hosts because he was
so fond of the local cuisine. Arvind marvelled at the atmosphere of relaxation and friendship as he sat back and enjoyed
the warmth of the fire.
The group headed out to discover Wayanad's natural
treasures the following day. The Pookode Lake, a calm freshwater lake encircled
by hills and forests, was their first stop. They rented a rowboat and glided
over the placid waters for an hour. The tranquilly of the lake and the
surrounding vegetation's reflections on its surface captivated Arvind. He felt
a sense of calm that he hadn't felt in years, which was a sharp contrast to the
hectic pace of his regular existence. There are many adventure things to do in
Wayanad.
They went to the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary afterwards. Their excursion was made even more
exciting by the pleasure of seeing wildlife as they entered the refuge. By good
fortune, they were able to see a herd of elephants grazing in the distance.
Even Arvind, who had no interest in wildlife in the first place, was mesmerised
by the elegance and majesty of these magnificent creatures.
As the day was coming to an end, the party made the
decision to go to the well-known Soochipara
Falls. The sight of the thunderous roar and misty spray of the flowing
waterfall was magnificent. It was an intense but steep descent to the falls'
base. Their laughter resounded off the rocks as they frolicked in the cool,
revitalising water. This pure moment of happiness was freeing for Arvind, who
was always worrying about the little things in life.
They would get together around the dinner table in the
evenings to tell stories and relive the experiences of the previous day. The
variety of flavours and textures found in the traditional cuisine, such as Kerala Sadya, and the fresh seafood
that melted in their tongues, were astounding. Normally a finicky eater, Arvind
found himself excitedly sampling new foods and enjoying each bite.
More exploring took place during the next few days.
They hiked through the thick forests of Chembra Peak, where they were rewarded
with a breathtaking heart-shaped lake at the peak, and then visited Kuruva
Island, a river delta with distinctive flora and animals. Every encounter was
an exciting new journey, and Arvind was always taken aback by how much he
relished the spontaneity of it all.
The group reflected on their experience while sitting
together beneath a starry sky on their last night in Wayanad. Arvind, who is
often quiet and reflective, noticed that he was sharing more than he had in a
long time. He discussed the strains and stress of his job, as well as how this
trip had helped him get back in touch with his friends and himself. He had a fresh outlook on life as a result of
their sense of camaraderie and the breathtaking surroundings.
They were reluctant to split from the peace and beauty
of nature they had grown to love as they were ready to depart Wayanad. Arvind
felt a twinge of regret and deep appreciation as he took one last look at the
undulating hills and lush vegetation. The journey had served as a helpful
reminder of how important it is to take a break from the grind and appreciate
the wonders of the world.
Quiet contemplation occupied the return trip. While
Arvind's buddies were chatting animatedly, he was deep in concentration, thinking about how this trip was going to affect his
life. He had been moved not just by the gorgeous scenery and the daring
activities, but also by the pure delight of getting back in touch with old
friends and living life as it truly is. These are one of the top adventure
things to do in Wayanad.
Arvind felt energized and hopeful again when they
eventually made it home. More than just a holiday, the trip to Wayanad had been
a voyage of self-discovery. Although routines provided comfort, he came to
understand that it was just as vital to push himself outside his comfort zone
and embrace new experiences. He meant to apply this lesson to his everyday life,
bringing with him the same sense of awe and gratitude he had experienced at
Wayanad.
Part of the calm and happiness he had found returned
to Arvind as he packed his suitcase and went about his daily business. He could
never forget Wayanad's recollections, which served as a constant reminder that
even with all of life's hardships and obligations, there might also be times of
complete, unadulterated joy.
