The Lotus Temple, which is one of the most visited locations and sightseeing places in Delhi, has a very rich history. It was designed by Iranian and Canadian architect Fariborz Sahba and opened to the public in December 1986.

The total height of this temple is around 34m and the beautiful surroundings of 9 water ponds make this place even more beautiful. During the time of evening, the rays of light shine through the domes and the roof, illuminating the white walls, which create a very magical and beautiful overview of this architecture.

The temple serves as a Bahai House of Worship and is known for its great and unique lotus-shaped structure. The Lotus Temple is a symbol of purity, love, and peace. The inspiration for the design came from the lotus flower, which holds great cultural and spiritual significance in the country of India.

The construction of this temple took around 10 years to complete, and it was built using marble from Greece, which gave a sense of elegance and serenity to the structure. The temple comprises 27 free-standing clads of marble petals arranged in clusters which form a shape similar to a half-open lotus.
